Role description
Next Step Recruitment is partnering with our client for this search.
Location: This is a full time, in office role, based out of downtown Durham, NC
Our client is a fast-moving, high-energy company in the live events industry, dedicated to optimizing ticket availability and pricing through strategic inventory management. Operating in a dynamic, data-driven market, they rely on smart, real-time decisions to drive success.
We’re looking for a Ticketing Operations & Pricing Manager who can stay ahead of the market, lead a remote team, and make strategic, high-stakes decisions under pressure. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, excel in analyzing trends, and are comfortable making quick, informed calls, this role is for you.
What you'll do:
Inventory & Pricing Management
• Oversee day-to-day inventory, ensuring accuracy and adapting forecasts based on sales trends.
• Collaborate with the buying team (3-10 employees) to secure the right inventory at the right time.
• Develop and adjust pricing strategies using market data and competitor analysis.
• Coordinate with the overnight risk and pricing specialist to optimize pricing strategies in real time.
• Utilize automated pricing tools to dynamically manage listings.
Risk & Market Strategy
• Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and demand fluctuations to minimize risk and seize opportunities.
• Work with the presale specialist to manage presale dates, purchase tracking, and exclusive access acquisitions.
• Adjust sales strategies in response to market changes—balancing holding inventory vs. fast sales.
• Partner with leadership to explore long-term revenue opportunities beyond daily transactions.
Team Leadership, Training & Productivity
• Lead and support a high-performing remote team, setting clear objectives and ensuring alignment.
• Train and onboard new team members on inventory management processes, pricing strategies, and market trends.
• Use Google Sheets and Excel to track performance and ensure smooth operations.
• Provide coaching and feedback to enhance decision-making and team efficiency.
• Facilitate cross-team coordination between buyers, pricing specialists, and presale operations.
Decision-Making in a Startup Environment
• Make ongoing, data-driven adjustments based on real-time market trends.
• Prioritize tasks effectively, balancing quick decisions with strategic patience.
• Collaborate with leadership to refine pricing models, streamline operations, and drive revenue growth.
• Thrive in an entrepreneurial setting where you’ll help build and improve processes.
Who you are:
This role is a great fit if you:
• Have experience in ticketing, inventory management, e-commerce, or a similar field where timing and pricing are crucial.
• Enjoy making data-driven decisions and can confidently make quick, high-stakes calls.
• Have team management experience, particularly in a remote or hybrid setup.
• Are proficient in Google Sheets, Excel, and pricing tools—or can learn them quickly.
• Excel in high-pressure environments where your decisions directly impact revenue.
• Are adaptable and proactive, adjusting strategies on the fly without hesitation.
• Prefer a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting over a rigid corporate structure.
• Take ownership of your work and find solutions independently without micromanagement.
Why join us?:
• Startup Culture: Small team, fast decisions, and real ownership of your work.
• Direct Impact: Your pricing and inventory decisions will directly affect revenue.
• High-Energy Industry: Competitive, trend-driven, and always evolving.
• Strong Team: Lead an experienced, capable remote team that thrives on collaboration.
• Growth Opportunity: This is a pivotal role with room to expand and take on greater responsibilities over time.
