POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the role will function as a change agent, charged with developing the roadmap to evolve the Company’s core customer digital experience, support retail partnerships, and direct consumer experiences to drive significant growth in product assortment and revenue. This individual will expand presence in geographies without established school relationships and support school existing relationships. Vital to success will be creating experiences by escalating the use of mobile and social media to create an exceptional and seamless multi-channel shopping experience. A key change management leader, this executive will own the E-Commerce for 10 websites and will oversee the user experience across these platforms to achieve sales and profitability objectives. This leader must enjoy change and innovation and be a great communicator with a strong digital DNA and orientation. Our compensation package offers a competitive base salary, eligibility for an annual bonus, and equity to share in the company’s growth.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
• Own the strategy and execution of every facet of the E-Commerce & Retail businesses from customer drivers and marketing to brand authenticity, site performance, conversion and product sell thru.
• Develop and execute a bold multi-channel strategy that incorporates profitable integration of E-Commerce into existing wholesale, retail, and school channels for the E-Commerce (B2C) and retail partner (B2B2C) business and overseeing third party sites.
• Direct the development and evolution of the Company’s key growth opportunities including product catalog and offering expansion, alternative E-Commerce, social & Retail business platforms.
• Grow the digital products, experiences, and processes, working cross functionally to provide requirements and leadership throughout the definition, development, QA, and launch phases.
• Oversee the online merchandising and marketing strategies and promotional messaging integration with the Company’s overall merchandising and marketing programs focused on driving revenue growth and capturing greater market share.
• Develop and maintain controls on data quality and sources as well as ensuring daily website metric execution activities and manage and monitor the website journey experience.
• Lead a team of professionals in the areas of digital marketing, CRM, merchandising, creative and site operations to develop core foundational capabilities across people, process, and systems.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Creative teams to build the best possible online experiences for our buyers and prospects while ensuring product hierarchy matches users’ expectations.
• Work with internal and external Information Technology development teams to ensure the architecture and user interface accurately reflects customers’ needs.
• Manage feedback from the sales force on the school pages, products, and packages.
• Ensure accessibility and compatibility of ADA and COPA requirements of the websites to changes in customer behavior and adapt websites quickly.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree is required; MBA is preferred.
• 12+ years of experience managing a data informed customer-centric online business that has met business and financial goals by implementing innovative and creative strategies and tactics.
• Experience in Consumer Products or Retail E-Commerce.
• Demonstrated capacity to reinvent (vision and execution) and execute best practices site shopping experiences and online marketing programs for target customer segments across different devices and destinations.
• Proven track record in developing, promoting, and implementing differentiated digital and transactional E-Commerce shopping experiences and marketing strategies that have resulted in substantially scaled business. Early stage, start-up capability.
• Role requires significant and proven experience as a successful digital business leader.
• Adept at using social media, mobile devices, and tablets vs. only traditional websites to drive incremental sales.
• Profound understanding of best practices relative to creating site experiences and appropriate customer engagement and customer retention that results in increased visit & purchase frequency, conversion rates and average order value.
• Deep knowledge and data use; customer, web analytics, media and email analytics, usability, customer acquisition and retention marketing, digital channels such as paid search, search engine optimization, social and mobile and other critical online marketing tools, and techniques.
• A strong business leader with the ability to coordinate and unify marketing and creative strategies across channels so that there is a clear, consistent, holistic brand message communicated across channels and efforts.
