Hey there! We're AKKO - a venture-funded & fast-growing insurtech company with a passionate, solution-forward, and collaborative fully remote team focused on disrupting the device insurance space.

We're hiring a player-coach VP to source and close high-impact partnerships while leading a team. The ideal leader has hands-on experience in tech/fintech/B2B SaaS/insurtech and a track record of creating B2B2C distribution with brands in fintech, insurtech, e-commerce, and/or telecom. Warranty/device protection experience is a plus (not required). You'll own the end-to-end partner motion—prospecting, solution design, commercial negotiation, legal/InfoSec reviews, launch, and ongoing growth—while setting strategy, coaching team members, and building repeatable playbooks.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
• Source, multi-thread, and close distribution, embedded, affiliate, and reseller partnerships that drive consumer plan sales.
• Own the full BD lifecycle—from sourcing and pitching through commercials and contracts (MSA/rev-share, data/privacy, InfoSec) to signature, launch, and scale—in lockstep with Legal/Finance.
• Lead the partnerships team as a player-coach; set operating rhythm (pipeline reviews, deal strategy, forecast) and hold a high bar for execution.
• Shape partner offers (pricing, packaging, rev-share), co-marketing plans, and integration paths (API/checkout flows/CS handoffs).
• Collaborate with Sales, Product/Engineering, Marketing, Ops/CS to align GTM, structure agreements, and ensure smooth implementation and ramp.
• Build the playbook: document ICPs, outreach sequences, qualification criteria, mutual action plans, and success metrics to enable repeatable land & expand.
• Maintain competitive and partner-landscape intelligence and feed insights to roadmap and pricing.
• Tailor AKKO's value proposition across D2C and B2B2C models; represent AKKO at industry events and with executive decision-makers.
• Serve on AKKO's leadership team: partner with fellow VPs and department heads to set company strategy, drive quarterly priorities, and model a high-bar, outcomes-first culture.
• Track, report, and consistently exceed monthly/quarterly revenue targets through strategic partner development and disciplined pipeline management.
WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED
• 10+ years in B2B sales/partnerships with 5+ years in leadership (player-coach or team lead) across tech/fintech/B2B SaaS/insurtech; proven success building B2B2C/channel partnerships in fintech, insurtech, e-commerce, or telecom.
• Full-cycle hunter–closer: prospecting, discovery/solution design, executive alignment, commercial & contract negotiation, launch, and scale; mastery of solution selling (MEDDICC/Challenger/SPIN), multi-threading, and mutual action plans.
• Enterprise navigation and compliance: leads complex agreements with Legal/Finance/Compliance; fluent in legal, data privacy, and InfoSec requirements.
• Executive presence and influence: crafts ROI narratives, persuades C-suite stakeholders, and partners effectively with PM/Engineering on integration details; exceptional communicator and relationship builder.
• Data-driven operator: rigorous CRM discipline (Salesforce/HubSpot), accurate forecasting/reporting/analysis, and the ability to turn data into action.
• Thrives in a fast-paced startup; self-directed learner and collaborative team player focused on outcomes.
• Willing to travel for partner meetings, industry events, and team offsites.
The base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000. Total compensation for this position is $200,000 or higher. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
