Role description
Good Giant is the largest gaming-focused advertising agency in the United States and operates in Reno, Nevada, Mobile, Alabama, Chicago, Illinois, Las Vegas, Nevada and Tulsa, Oklahoma. We provide comprehensive marketing services to various brands with a specialization in the Tribal and commercial casino resorts from coast to coast.
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in HTML/CSS/JavaScript and an eagerness to grow. You’ll help translate designs into functioning digital experiences, make regular CMS and plugin updates, and support web content entry across multiple platforms.
DESCRIPTION
The Web Developer role bridges technical execution and creative production. You’ll work with our Producers and Creatives to ensure websites, emails, and digital assets are functional, visually consistent, and easy to maintain. This is a hands-on role focused on implementation and maintenance—with room to grow into more complex development over time. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week in the office and two days remote. Specific in-office days will be determined by the department schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Website Development & Maintenance
• Build, maintain and update WordPress websites (both agency and client), including plugin implementation, troubleshooting, updates, and light theme modifications
• Support hosted platforms like Squarespace, Shopify, and Webflow, including content edits and basic theming
• Troubleshoot issues across client sites, including layout, mobile responsiveness, and general functionality
• Assist with hosting-related tasks across providers like WP Engine, Flywheel, GoDaddy, or AWS (site updates, plugin compatibility, basic troubleshooting)
• Provide technical support for integrations with platforms like Prismic and Heroku
• Work with designers and animators to build web experiences from creative assets, including implementing transitions or light animations using HTML/CSS/JS
• Perform quality assurance checks across browsers and devices
• Suggest and help implement improvements to workflows, templates, and technology when appropriate
• Research documentation and tutorials to implement solutions independently or with support
• Use Git to collaborate on code and manage updates across dev environments
• Assist in asset optimization and basic CDN tasks (e.g., image compression, linking assets via CDN)
Email Development
• Build, test, and deploy HTML emails using platforms such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, and HubSpot.
• Convert layered artwork into usable HTML for email delivery with cross-client compatibility.
• Maintain clean, responsive code that aligns with brand creative.
Collaboration & Client Communication
• Work closely with Producers to scope and estimate digital tasks and schedules.
• Assist in technical strategy and cost/schedule estimation for new projects.
• Maintain open lines of communication with clients when discussing development, maintenance, or technical concerns.
• Assist in the development of client contract details.
• Provide troubleshooting support, documentation, and status updates.
• Participate in planning calls and provide strategic recommendations when needed.
• Develop and foster relationships with third-party vendors and freelancers.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 1–3 years of experience in web development for marketing or content-driven websites (or equivalent skill level)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Comfortable managing tasks independently while working within a team structure
• Can communicate clearly and effectively with non-technical stakeholders
• Open to learning new tools, platforms, and workflows to support evolving project needs
• Able to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and fast-moving deadlines
• Collaborative, communicative, and dependable—an excellent partner to Producers and Project Managers
• Willingness to work flexible hours when needed to meet project deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Positive, solution-oriented mindset in a deadline-driven environment
• Learns from both successes and challenges and strives to improve over time
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS (SASS preferred), and basic JavaScript
• Ability to read and write JSON and work with structured data formats
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, or Node.js (not required but a plus)
• Basic experience with front-end build tools such as Gulp, Webpack, or Vite (or willingness to learn)
• Experience building responsive HTML emails and testing for cross-client compatibility
• Comfortable implementing user interactions and transitions using HTML/CSS/JS; animation experience is a bonus
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git and working across environments
• Experience across a variety of web projects—from landing pages to content-rich sites or eCommerce builds
• Familiarity with API-based integrations (e.g., Google Maps, video platforms, social media embeds)
• Experience with CMS platforms including WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, or Shopify; ability to manage updates and templated content
• Working knowledge of hosting environments like WP Engine, Flywheel, GoDaddy, or AWS preferred
• Ability to interpret Figma, Sketch, or Photoshop files for clean front-end implementation
• Familiarity with project management and issue tracking tools
• Basic understanding of Google Workspace administration (account setup, permissions, troubleshooting)
