Summary
The Associate - Retail (Part-time, Temporary) supports sales, merchandising, and inventory at MADE by DWC Resale Boutique’s storefront, eCommerce platforms, and pop-up shops. This role assists with product preparation, marketing, visual and digital merchandising, and supports job-training participants and volunteers. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about mission-driven retail. This is a temporary position through September 2025 and reports to the Consumer Products Manager.
Essential Functions
• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor, e-commerce platforms, photoshoots, and shipping by ensuring quality controlling, pricing, writing product descriptions, uploading products, packaging, and utilizing shipping software.
• Support the Consumer Products Manager in developing retail campaigns using knowledge of visual, product and digital merchandising, resale and fashion industry trends and forecasting, set design, photography, and photo editing skills.
• Provide excellent customer service in-store and online by greeting, asking and answering questions, styling, monitoring fitting rooms, problem-solving, up-selling, and maintaining knowledge of current product, sales, promotions, and incentives.
• Serve as a MADE by DWC brand ambassador by sharing knowledge of the MADE story, values and businesses including The Café and MADE branded products, and contributing to department goals.
• Protects equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance of the boutique.
• Maintain operational consistencies that promote a clean, welcoming, organized, and safe space for staff and volunteers that meet health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Perform opening and closing tasks including store cleaning, maintaining signage, recording sales and KPI goals, EOD checklist, and assisting in POS procedures.
• Other duties as necessary to meet the goals and mission of the store.
• Assist job training participants by providing coaching, assisting in training, and supporting daily tasks.

Work Environment
Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service, and develops a rapport with each customer by learning their names and preferred styles. Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations if they arise. Reports all customer complaints to the Social Enterprise Resale Assistant Manager. Accurately manage POS transactions in a friendly and courteous manner. Answer telephone in a friendly manner including, greeting customers, giving directions to store location, and/or answering inquiries about the product and/or DWC. Routinely cleans the store and supports visual merchandising and inventory as necessary. Reports potential safety hazards, employee accidents to the Social Enterprise Resale Assistant Manager, communicating any operational inconsistencies.
Physical Demands
• Frequently required to use hand finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
• Able to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time.
• Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to adjust vision to both day and night lighting, and be able to focus on distant and close-range objects.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time, temporary position expected to run through September 2025. The role is typically scheduled for 3 days per week at 6 hours per day, totaling approximately 18–20 hours per week.
Saturday availability is required, with shifts from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Weekday shifts generally run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Scheduled days may vary week to week based on staffing needs. Flexibility is essential, and occasional holiday coverage may be required.

Required Education And Experience
High school degree; or GED. Retail experience a plus.

If you are fully vaccinated and not yet eligible to receive a booster dose, then you must receive the booster dose within 30 days of becoming eligible and eligibility begins 5 months after receiving final primary dose. If you are fully vaccinated and have received a booster dose, you are considered up to date with your vaccinations. Unvaccinated individuals must receive their 1st dose before their first day of hire. Partially vaccinated (for 2-dose series) individuals must receive their 2nd dose within 30 days of being hired. The second dose of a two-dose vaccine series is due 4 weeks after the primary dose.
