Role description
Job Title: Content Assistant Location: On-site at the Farmquarters in Gig Harbor, WA Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Marketing Compensation: $25/hour + medical/dental, matching 401(k), and paid vacation About The Role Farmgirl Flowers is looking for a hyper-organized, detail-loving, get-it-done Content Assistant to keep our content machine running smoothly. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of role—equal parts creative support and logistical wizardry. You’ll be the one making sure our content calendar stays on track, our assets are where they need to be, and our shoots and launches run without a hitch. You’ll be based at the Farmquarters in Gig Harbor, WA, working closely with our marketing, product, and design teams to bring the Farmgirl brand to life across social, email, web, and beyond. Some days you’ll be knee-deep in shoot prep, other days you’ll be organizing the asset library, sometimes you’ll be out capturing photos and videos of the goings-on at the Farmquarters, and other days you’ll be brainstorming new ideas for social campaigns that make people stop scrolling. We’re a fast-moving, high-expectation e-commerce brand, and we need someone who thrives in that kind of environment. You’ll need to be organized to your core, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and excited to jump in wherever you’re needed. A super important note: This is an on-site role with required presence during our busiest seasons—Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. These are all-hands-on-deck moments at Farmgirl, and we need people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and dive in alongside the rest of the team (including leadership). Blackout periods for PTO apply around these peak floral holidays, so if you’re looking for a role with quiet seasons and winter holiday flexibility—this likely isn’t it. If you’re energized by the idea of being part of something fast, creative, and ever-evolving—we’d love to hear from you! What You’ll Do Keep the Content Calendar on Track: Coordinate timelines, deadlines, and deliverables so our content hits when it’s supposed to—no missed launches, no scrambling last minute. Capture & Post Content Daily: Regularly photograph and film the goings-on at the Farmquarters—everything from behind-the-scenes moments to new product arrivals—then edit, write captions, and post directly to our social channels to keep them fresh, authentic, and engaging. Support Photo & Video Shoots: Help plan, prep, and coordinate shoots—including styling, asset tracking, and keeping everything running smoothly day-of. Manage the Asset Library: Organize and maintain our photo and video library so assets are easy to find, properly labeled, and ready to use. Prep & Source Content: Gather, organize, and prep assets for social media, email, web, and other marketing channels. Collaborate Across Teams: Work with marketing, product, and operations to identify content needs and keep everyone aligned. Pitch Creative Ideas: Bring fresh, on-brand ideas for social posts, campaigns, and other creative moments. Track & Report: Monitor content performance and share insights to help guide future creative. Be All-In During Peak Seasons: Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and other big moments are all-hands-on-deck at Farmgirl. You’ll be here, pitching in where needed to make the magic happen. What You Bring to the Table Proven Organization Skills: You can keep multiple projects moving at once and know how to hit deadlines—every time. Creative Eye: You have a knack for spotting (and creating) beautiful, on-brand visuals. Experience in Content Coordination or Marketing: At least 1–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in e-commerce, brand, or agency settings. While experience is great, it’s not required—we’re really looking for someone who can bring our brand to life through writing that feels like you’re talking to your best friend, and by creating content that’s authentic, engaging, and real. You don’t have to have done it in a professional role—just show us you’ve done it in your life. Tech-Savvy: Very comfortable with Google Workspace, Slack, and using the internet for research, sourcing for shoots, and tracking down what you need. Experience with calendar management platforms (like Google Calendar, Asana, or Trello) and basic design editing tools (like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus—but not a dealbreaker if you haven’t used them yet. Social Media Fluency: You understand Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook—and what makes content click on each. Proactive Mindset: You don’t wait for instructions—you anticipate needs, spot gaps, and jump in. Team Player Energy: You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and bring a positive attitude—even on deadline days. Excited to Be On-Site & All-In During Peak: You’re ready to be here in person and fully engaged during our busiest seasons. Why You’ll Love It Here • Your work will make a real difference—both for our customers and for the future of our company. • We’re a small, scrappy team where every person (and every role) truly matters. Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage are also available for employees.
