Position: Data Engineer – E-Commerce
Location: Remote (preferred EST/CST) or Onsite (as per client requirement)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6+ months contract (possible extension/CTH)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Engineer with proven experience in the e-commerce domain to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and integration frameworks. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in handling large-scale transactional data, building ETL/ELT pipelines, and working closely with analytics and business teams to deliver insights that drive customer experience and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for e-commerce applications.
• Integrate and manage data from multiple sources (transactional systems, clickstream, ERP, CRM, etc.).
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) for data storage, transformation, and orchestration.
• Optimize data models to support BI dashboards, personalization, recommendation engines, and marketing analytics.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to enable predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all systems.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and improve data processing efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
• 3–6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Proven expertise with SQL and at least one programming language (Python/Scala/Java).
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration frameworks (Airflow, dbt, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake).
• Experience working with e-commerce datasets (orders, products, customers, transactions, clickstream).
• Familiarity with streaming frameworks (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming) is a plus.
• Understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and performance tuning.
