Fashion Nova is seeking a passionate Director of Buying who has hands-on Buying and Product Development experience, ideally within the women's dresses category. The Category Director will be responsible for developing and executing strategies which provide the Buying Merchandise direction for his/her assigned division. The Director will focus on the overall direction, market penetration, assortment, and vendor mix to meet the demands of our customer base for their division. They will also oversee a team of buyers. Key responsibilities include driving assortment strategy, trend forecasting, cost negotiation and margin optimization, financial management, cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decisions, leading weekly open-to-buy meetings, training and mentoring the buying team, and developing vendor partnerships. Requirements include a BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred, 15+ years of Apparel Buying/Merchandising experience ideally within an eCommerce environment, minimum 5 years Buying leadership experience, product development experience preferred, ability to adapt to constant change, results orientation, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a keen eye for design, trends, and color. The position schedule is Monday – Friday, core business hours, onsite at the new state-of-the-art HQ opening in 2025.
