Director of Data & Technology – Customer Identity & Digital Discovery
Location: Dallas, TX (On-site)
Compensation: $280,000 – $310,000 base
A global technology leader is seeking a Director of Data & Technology to drive the development of high-scale digital capabilities across customer identity, e-commerce, and product discovery platforms. This role will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on enabling intelligent and personalized user experiences, particularly within complex product environments.
Preferably, we are looking for someone who's had experience in large companies - a mix of hands-on and leadership experience is key.
What You’ll Do:
• Architect and lead the buildout of scalable, cloud-based data infrastructure for identity resolution, personalization, and behavioral analytics
• Oversee ingestion, enrichment, and classification of complex product catalogs to power real-time discovery and search
• Integrate first-party and third-party data into unified customer profiles to drive segmentation and activation
• Optimize e-commerce flows through AI-driven recommendations, parametric search, and cross-reference engines
• Build and enforce global privacy and consent frameworks in line with CCPA, GDPR, and other standards
• Lead modernization of data platforms with microservices, APIs, and CI/CD DevOps infrastructure
• Establish frameworks for behavioral analytics, A/B testing, and journey optimization
• Direct a high-performing, cross-functional team of 50–60 engineers, analysts, and architects
• Partner with product, marketing, and experience teams to align on business impact and digital strategy
What You Bring:
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, digital platform, or analytics leadership roles, including 3+ years in a Director-level position
• Deep experience with customer data platforms (CDPs), identity systems, and real-time personalization engines
• Strong background in technical product discovery, search optimization, and structured catalog systems
• Fluency in cloud infrastructure, scalable data architecture, and enterprise-level API design
• Expertise with digital analytics, experimentation, and search relevance optimization
• Experience leading large teams in complex, multi-stakeholder digital environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MS/MBA preferred)
Nice to Have:
• Experience in B2B digital commerce or technical/industrial product platforms
• Familiarity with CIAM, unified login, and consent architecture
• Background applying ML to recommendation systems, personalization, or intelligent ranking
