Position Summary
The Director of E-Commerce is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving online, D2C revenue growth, enhancing the digital customer experience, and leading e-commerce operations across direct-to-consumer and marketplace channels. This role oversees cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, operations, product, analytics, and customer service, while executing innovative strategies to build brand awareness, improve online performance, and maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities: E-Commerce Strategy & Execution
β’ Lead and manage DTC e-commerce operations with accountability for revenue, conversion, and profitability
β’ Own and execute digital marketing strategies across paid search, social, display, retargeting, affiliate, and influencer marketing
β’ Oversee website functionality, CRO, UI/UX, and digital merchandising to enhance customer experience and conversion rates
β’ Develop and execute content and campaign calendars aligned with business goals and seasonal opportunities
β’ Utilize Shopify and related tools to manage site operations and implement performance improvements
β’ Drive email, SMS, and CRM strategies to increase retention, repeat purchases, and customer lifetime value
β’ Monitor analytics to inform campaign optimization, customer behavior, and marketing performance (e.g., Google Analytics)
β’ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure brand alignment across all channels and minimize channel conflict
β’ Build and lead a high-performing team across digital marketing, merchandising, and analytics functions
β’ Manage marketing budgets with a focus on efficiency, ROI, and customer acquisition cost (CAC)
β’ Stay informed on e-commerce trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge
Digital Marketing & Brand Growth
β’ Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns across SEO, SEM, email, social media, affiliate, and display advertising.
β’ Analyze customer data and website traffic to improve UX/UI, retention, and conversion rates.
β’ Collaborate on content creation strategies that align with brand identity and market trends.
β’ Monitor and report on marketing KPIs (e.g., ROI, ROAS, CAC) to drive performance improvements.
Leadership & Team Development
β’ Direct, coach, and mentor a growing team of e-commerce and marketing professionals.
β’ Promote a collaborative, data-driven, and performance-based culture.
β’ Identify team skill gaps and lead hiring, training, and succession planning.
Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
β’ Oversee the implementation and use of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, BI dashboards) to track business performance.
β’ Provide actionable insights to senior leadership through regular reporting on key performance indicators.
β’ Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, customer feedback, and competitor benchmarking.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
β’ Partner with IT, Product, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure seamless online operations and customer satisfaction.
β’ Maintain strong relationships with marketplace partners, vendors, and digital agencies.
β’ Lead or support public relations response strategies and brand crisis management when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in business, Marketing, E-Commerce, or related field; MBA preferred.
β’ 8+ years of progressive experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, and online sales, including leadership of cross-functional teams.
β’ Demonstrated success managing multichannel online sales strategies and platforms.
β’ Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools, trends, and technologies.
β’ Proficient with ERP systems (Oracle preferred), ecommerce platforms, and marketing analytics tools.
β’ Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
β’ Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
β’ Ability to travel up to 15%.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience in consumer goods, home, lifestyle, or retail ecommerce industries.
β’ Multinational company experience and/or international market exposure.
