Role description
Tecovas is seeking a visionary Director of Merchandising to lead and elevate the Men’s portfolio including Footwear, Apparel, and Accessories. The role involves driving innovation through new product lines and special projects, working closely with Design, Development, Marketing, and Planning teams to develop compelling seasonal strategies that resonate with customers and drive business growth. Responsibilities include crafting product briefs, global line plans, GTM strategies, and storytelling, owning and championing categories using data and insights, leading a team of 4 merchants, managing seasonal category strategies aligned with financial goals, expanding into new product lines, conducting market and competitive research, setting pricing and margin strategies, maintaining product roadmaps, coordinating with marketing and sales teams, analyzing sales data, and managing product development cycles. The role requires 10+ years of experience in product line management, a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, experience in apparel, footwear, or lifestyle brands, retail buying experience, comfort with retail math and inventory metrics, familiarity with PLM software and data visualization tools preferred, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to travel periodically. The position is based in Austin, TX and requires candidates to be located or willing to relocate there.
