Role description
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGThe E-Commerce Operations & Web Manager will oversee the daily operations, functionality, and ongoing development of our e-commerce business and website. They will take ownership of systems, processes, and execution, working closely with the Marketing and E-Commerce Director to represent our brand and curated product selection while creating a customer experience that matches our brick & mortar store. This role will be accountable for ensuring operational excellence, website performance, and a best-in-class online shopping experience. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES E-Commerce Manage all e-commerce orders and the sales process from start to finish. Ensure orders are fulfilled, processed, and shipped within designated time frames. Manage the full online product catalog. Oversee product integration from point-of-sale system to e-commerce platform, ensuring accurate product specifications, features, and imagery. Regularly audit and QA product and category pages. Maintain and improve item, SKU, and UPC creation and integration processes between in-store and online POS systems. Oversee e-commerce customer service, including special orders and group orders, ensuring prompt, professional responses and resolutions. Assist in developing short- and long-term e-commerce operational strategies in collaboration with leadership, buying, operations, and sales teams. Monitor and report on key website and e-commerce metrics, trends, and performance indicators, providing insights for operational improvements. Coordinate with and manage third-party applications integrated with our POS and e-commerce platforms, including troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compatibility. Oversee returns and exchanges for e-commerce orders, ensuring a smooth and customer-friendly process. Identify, recommend, and implement UX/UI optimizations to improve site usability, conversion rates, and overall customer experience. Ensure adherence to PCI compliance and other e-commerce security and data privacy standards. Web Management Serve as the β€˜Web Parent’ to the Neptune Mountaineering website, ensuring stability, functionality, and continuous improvement. Partner with the marketing team to support website-related initiatives, including visual updates, product features, event pages, blog posts, educational content, branding updates, and promotions. Ensure the online experience aligns with in-store brand standards and promotions. Assist on the sales floor and with retail activities on a regular basis and during key periods. Other duties as needed to support e-commerce strategies and goals. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Required Professional Skills Minimum 3 years of experience managing an e-commerce business or online retail operations. Minimum 2 years of experience with Shopify platform. Minimum 2 years professional experience with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and data management. Minimum 1 year of web development experience. Experience and comfort with basic HTML/CSS coding and troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement start-to-finish systems and procedures. Proven ability to identify and implement UX/UI improvements to enhance customer experience and site performance. Ability to understand historical and current trends in the outdoor and retail industries. Required Personal Characteristics & Skills Strong problem-solving and research skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Comfortable taking initiative and operating with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating with team members. Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning. Must be able to report and work in-person at the Boulder, CO office. Preferred Professional Skills and Personal Experience Prior retail experience, ideally in the outdoor industry. Interest and participation in outdoor sports and activities, as well as local area knowledge. WHAT WE OFFER Pay Range: $58,000 to $70,000 salary depending on experience.
