Role description
Key Responsibilities: Site Optimization & CX • Proactively monitor the site daily for merchandising effectiveness, content freshness, and functional performance • Leverage heat maps, scroll maps, and session recordings (e.g., Hotjar, FullStory) to identify user behavior patterns and friction points • Analyze on-site funnels, bounce/drop-off rates, and conversion pathways to identify optimization opportunities • Partner with CRO and design teams (or lead tests yourself) to develop and run A/B or multivariate tests Digital Merchandising • Own the PDP and PLP experience: ensure best-selling, highest-margin, or priority SKUs are front-and-center • Actively update collections, product sort orders, banners, and homepage sections based on sales velocity and seasonal shifts • Collaborate with inventory or planning to make sure low-stock items aren’t promoted or buried SKUs aren’t left stagnant • Review how products are being grouped and presented across the site and refine for performance and story Data-Driven Decision Making • Create and maintain dashboards/reports for: • Top viewed vs top-selling SKUs • Click-through heat zones across key pages • Merchandising efficacy per page type • Revenue lift tied to on-site changes • Drive weekly/monthly reporting on performance insights and actionable next steps for the site Cross-Functional Leadership • Collaborate with growth/retention teams to align landing pages and product placements with paid and email campaigns • Communicate clearly with design/dev teams to update site features, fix bugs, or implement new tools • Provide feedback to product and brand teams based on what customers are clicking on, hesitating on, or ignoring Site Production & Operational Execution • Prepare and upload product listings, including images, swatches, tags, and accurate product data • Coordinate with creative and merchandising teams to ensure assets are delivered on time and meet requirements • Own the QA process for product launches and promotional updates to ensure clean and error-free execution • Set up and manage promotional pricing, bundles, coupon codes, and discounts • Maintain backend product catalog integrity—ensuring pricing, inventory, categorization, and SKU structure are accurate • Execute daily site sweeps to identify and fix content, layout, or functionality issues before they impact the customer • Work closely with customer service and inventory planning to make sure site availability reflects actual stock levels • Stay up to date on Shopify admin tools and operational best practices to streamline workflows and improve execution quality
