Role description
Are you a data-savvy ecommerce professional ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for an Ecommerce Optimization Specialist who’s passionate about using data to drive decisions, improve customer journeys, and boost conversion rates. In this role, you’ll be working directly with executive leadership and have the opportunity to own key aspects of our ecommerce performance—analyzing site traffic, identifying friction points, and implementing strategies that directly impact growth. This is an ideal position for someone with 2–4 years of experience who’s eager to expand their strategic impact and grow alongside a collaborative, high-performing marketing team. We are a national multi-category, discount retailer with new inventory every month and a small but mighty team evolving a heritage catalog brand to grow our digital channels. Our guiding principles are to respect each other, enjoy the workplace, laugh at ourselves & be a change agent. Our mission is to Love the Customer! We do that by delighting and delivering an exceptional customer experience. If you’re intellectually curious with a customer-first attitude, this might be the place for you!
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
· Website & Performance Optimization
Monitor and analyze site traffic, user behavior, and conversion funnels to identify friction points and improve the customer journey.
· Search Engine Optimization (SEO & GEO)
Enhance organic search visibility through keyword strategy, on-page SEO, and localized content optimization.
· Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
Design and execute A/B tests and data-driven experiments to improve conversion across key ecommerce touchpoints.
· Site Health & Technical Performance
Conduct regular audits to ensure site speed, mobile responsiveness, and technical SEO best practices are maintained.
· Data Reporting & Insights
Build and maintain dashboards to track KPIs and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
· Customer Journey Mapping
Develop journey maps to understand user motivations and personalize the ecommerce experience.
· Strategic Execution
Support seasonal campaigns, promotions, and ecommerce strategies aligned with business goals.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with marketing, product, and customer service teams to align ecommerce initiatives and support digital campaigns.
SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· Hands-on experience managing an ecommerce site
· Basic understanding of SEO, user experience, upsell-cross-sell strategies, digital marketing and promotions.
· Working knowledge of product/data/asset management tools and ecommerce platforms
· Proficient in data analysis and using analytics and platform tools (eg. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Google Search Console, SEMRush, SearchSpring, etc.)
· Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint
· Intellectually curious problem solver with excellent organization, time management, and multi-tasking abilities
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment
· Successful management of direct reports, internal resources or vendors a plus.
· Work onsite at least 3 days a week, opportunity to work offsite during core hours 2 days a week. Due to the 24/7 nature of ecommerce, you must have flexibility outside regular work hours for occasional site-health checks and trouble shooting as needed.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in ecommerce and SEO
• Experience in a multi-category retail brand preferred
• Promotional strategies, digital marketing, copywriting and AI experience a plus
