Role description
We inspire purpose-filled living that brings beauty and quality to the modern home. Together, we achieve. Associates across our business drive results, innovate, and inspire. Drawn together by our shared values and passion for our customers and our brands, we deliver home furnishings that are expertly designed, responsibly sourced, and bring timeless style and function to people’s homes. From the day we opened our first store in Chicago in 1962 to the digital innovations that engage millions of customers today, our iconic brand is over 60 years in the making—and our story is still unfolding.
We’re here for it. We think you should be too. We’re looking for a driven professional with an inclusive mindset to join our team as an Enterprise Item Lead.
As part of our ongoing digital transformation, we’re modernizing the way we manage and deliver product information across the enterprise. We’re re-platforming our Product Information Management (PIM) ecosystem to create a centralized, scalable foundation that enables seamless product onboarding, enriched content, and accurate data syndication across all channels. We're seeking an Enterprise Item Lead to lead this critical transformation—driving strategy, implementation, and integration across systems, teams, and partners.
This position is fully remote.
A day in the life as an Enterprise Item Lead...
• Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of the enterprise PIM platform, ensuring it meets evolving business needs for product onboarding, enrichment, and syndication
• Architect and implement scalable integrations between the PIM system and internal platforms such as ERP, PLM, DAM, and eCommerce, as well as external data and content partners
• Develop and maintain performant APIs and microservices to support real-time and asynchronous data flows across systems and platforms
• Define and govern product data standards, taxonomy, attributes, and validation rules to ensure high-quality, consistent product information across systems and channels
• Collaborate closely with merchandising, supply chain, digital, and IT stakeholders to understand item setup requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Support and optimize legacy item setup processes—including batch workflows, SOAP integrations, and custom file formats—ensuring stability and accuracy while transitioning to modern platforms
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for enterprise item architecture, providing thought leadership on how product data should be structured, integrated, and leveraged across systems
• Lead and mentor developers and integration engineers, promoting technical excellence, agile best practices, and a culture of continuous improvement
• Break down complex initiatives into actionable technical plans and manage execution through agile delivery cycles with measurable outcomes
• Implement monitoring and observability solutions for item data flows to ensure system reliability, performance, and proactive issue detection
What you’ll bring to the table…
• Deep expertise with PIM platforms (e.g., Salsify, Akeneo, Riversand, Informatica, or Stibo) and experience integrating PIM with ERP, DAM, PLM, and eCommerce systems
• Strong programming and integration background using modern technologies (.NET Core, Golang, REST/gRPC, Kafka)
• Experience working with legacy systems and hybrid integration models, including SOAP APIs, batch jobs, and XML/flat file processing
• Solid understanding of product data modeling, enrichment workflows, taxonomy, and governance strategies
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes)
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 8+ years of software development, systems integration, or technical product data experience, with 3+ years in a PIM leadership or enterprise item ownership role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead through complexity
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, quality, and operational excellence
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, Agile environment
Minimum Starting Rate: $126,960.00 Annually
Up to: $158,700.00 Annually
Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
