About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our expanding finance team, supporting our E-commerce division. This pivotal role involves driving financial visibility, operational efficiency, and strategic performance enhancements across the Babylist Shop. Partnering closely with the Senior Finance Manager, you will lead comprehensive analysis related to our commerce engine, with a focus on topline growth and margin optimization. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Merchandising, Planning, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Data to evaluate strategic investments, refine reporting processes, and support company-wide financial objectives. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in developing forecasts, analyzing pricing strategies, and delivering insights that influence decision-making at the executive level. Qualifications
β’ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles within high-growth consumer technology or e-commerce companies
β’ Strong understanding of e-commerce metrics such as average order value (AOV), gross to net, unit economics, gross margin, contribution margin, and related concepts
β’ Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and large dataset management
β’ Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and generate actionable insights
β’ Excellent communication and presentation skills, including data visualization techniques to convey financial information effectively
β’ Strong ownership mentality, intellectual curiosity, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities
β’ Experience synthesizing large datasets from business intelligence platforms and financial systems to support strategic planning
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field; MBA is a plus
β’ Experience analyzing pricing, promotional performance, ROI, and financial impact is advantageous
Responsibilities
β’ Prepare and present monthly financial business reviews for the e-commerce division, highlighting sales, margins, and key trends
β’ Lead forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis in collaboration with Merchandising, Planning, and Accounting teams
β’ Support the development and evaluation of pricing and promotional strategies, including ROI analysis and optimization
β’ Analyze co-op advertising, DDA, and rebate programs to assess financial impact and ensure proper accruals
β’ Generate SKU-level and departmental reporting from revenue through margin analysis
β’ Ensure the accuracy and integrity of key e-commerce metrics in partnership with Data and Engineering teams
β’ Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and operational analyses to inform decision-making
β’ Establish and improve financial processes and reporting frameworks to enhance transparency and operational efficiency
β’ Utilize financial systems to provide visibility and insights to business leaders, supporting strategic planning and target tracking
β’ Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and provide strategic recommendations
β’ Assist in preparing materials for monthly and quarterly board meetings, annual planning, and long-range strategic initiatives
