Role description
Location: New York
Commitment: Part-time (20–25 hours/week) with opportunity to join full-time
Start Date: Immediate
About Us
Timeless Patents is a fast-growing eCommerce brand offering beautiful framed and unframed patent artwork. We've scaled rapidly and are now seeking a fractional Head of Retention to own and elevate our lifecycle marketing program — from strategic planning to creative execution.
The Role
We’re looking for someone who can own retention marketing end-to-end — combining lifecycle strategy, email design, and performance monitoring. You'll be responsible for:
Flows & Lifecycle Strategy:
• Audit and fully rebuild all core Klaviyo flows (welcome, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, post-purchase, winback, etc). This will be a standalone onboarding project with additional pay
• Create new and update existing behavior- or segment-based flows as needed
• Continuously monitor and optimize flow performance, identifying opportunities to improve open rates, clicks, conversions, and unsubscribes
Campaign Planning & Execution:
• Design and send 4–5 segmented email campaigns per week, including ideation, copywriting support, layout, and scheduling
• Build campaigns around seasonal trends, gifting opportunities, product launches, and customer behavior (e.g., first-time vs. repeat purchasers, gifting vs. personal use)
• Maintain a proactive content calendar with testing opportunities
Creative & Design:
• Design all emails directly in Figma, using our branding and product photography
• Make strategic decisions about layout, hierarchy, typography, and CTA placement
• Work collaboratively with our team to evolve and elevate the visual identity across retention touchpoints
Performance & Optimization:
• Own weekly reporting on key email metrics
• Develop insights and test hypotheses based on data
• Work with the founder and creative team to prioritize high-leverage improvements
You're A Fit If You
• Have 3–5+ years of experience in retention or lifecycle marketing for a DTC brand (ideally in home decor, gifting, or consumer goods)
• Are fluent in Klaviyo — including flow logic, dynamic content blocks, advanced segmentation, and analytics
• Have scaled email to 30–40% of total revenue
• Have strong design skills and experience building branded emails — you don’t need a separate designer to execute
• Think like a strategist but work like a builder — this is a hands-on role
• Are comfortable juggling both recurring campaigns and long-term lifecycle work
• Care about clear communication and the small details that make retention feel brand-building, not just revenue-driven
