Job Title: UI lead Position Type: Full-time Location: Rochester,NY Onsite: RTO (5 days per week) Experience level: 7+ yrs Job Summary: looking for an Onsite Technical Lead – UI/Frontend with strong hands-on experience in React and Frontastic (or other frontend orchestration platforms like Vue Storefront or Contentstack Frontend) to lead the design and delivery of dynamic, performant, and scalable customer-facing interfaces. This role will own the frontend technology stack for a modern headless eCommerce transformation project, ensuring seamless integration with back-end APIs and headless commerce platforms like CommerceTools. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Lead the design, development, and delivery of React-based frontend components using Frontastic as the frontend orchestration layer. β€’ Collaborate with UX designers, backend developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end customer experiences. β€’ Drive component-based architecture, reusable design systems, and frontend performance optimization. β€’ Provide technical leadership across the frontend team: conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best practices. β€’ Integrate with APIs and services from headless platforms such as CommerceTools, CMS, PIM, and Search . β€’ Define and enforce frontend development standards, including accessibility, responsiveness, and SEO best practices. β€’ Work closely with DevOps and QA to integrate frontend builds into CI/CD pipelines and test automation workflows. β€’ Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, and technical design discussions. Skill Requirements: β€’ 7+ years of frontend development experience, with 3+ years in React.js. β€’ Experience with Frontastic or similar headless frontend frameworks (e.g., Vue Storefront, Contentstack Frontend SDK). β€’ Proven ability to lead a team of developers and manage technical delivery for enterprise projects. β€’ Strong experience with component libraries, state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand), React Hooks, and SSR techniques. β€’ Good understanding of headless commerce architectures and API-first development. β€’ Experience integrating with any commerce platform (CommerceTools), CMS systems (e.g., Bynder, Contentful, Amplience), or PIM. β€’ Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and frontend build systems (Webpack, Vite, etc.). β€’ Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments and with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Figma. β€’ Ability to write clean, modular, testable code and lead others to do the same.
