Role description
OVERVIEW
This part-time position supports Shop Pyramid, Pyramid Atlantic’s gift shop program, and reports to Némesis Zambrano, Engagement Manager. Operating as a mini-gallery, Shop Pyramid highlights artist-made goods that reflect the organization’s core disciplines—printmaking, papermaking, and book arts. The shop features work created in Pyramid’s studios and by affiliated artists, serving as a platform to generate economic opportunities, engage the public in Pyramid’s creative offerings, and complement the organization’s exhibitions and educational programs. The position is approximately 15 hours per week, paid hourly, and must include 4 hours
on Saturdays.
DUTIES
• Working as a part of a team to hit annual shop income goals
• Managing shop inventory – including setting items up in Shopify, creating tags, reporting on sales
• Maintaining shop display – keeping the shop looking fresh and organized, creating featured items/sections around seasonal events and programs
• Crafting the shop’s online presence for increased sales
• Working with vendors – keeping agreements current, managing relationships and the acquisition/return of items
• Working primarily from the shop, processing in-person sales and packing/shipping online orders
• Working with team on off-site shopping events such as holiday markets
• Working as part of Pyramid’s dynamic team on special events, art openings, open houses, etc.
• Other duties as discussed and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in online and/or brick-and-mortar retail
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Social media savviness
• Interest in visual arts
• High attention to detail, and spunky attitude
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Flexibility to work some additional hours and evenings
COMPENSATION
This is an hourly position with a range of $18 - $20/hr. Pyramid offers part-time employees paid sick leave and a 3% IRA match. Studio access and discounted classes are also perks.
