Role description
Location: Shenzhen (preferred) / Bay Area, USA (optional, requires regular business trips to China) Reporting to: CEO Team: Advertising / Operations / Content / Data, etc. (8–15+ members) Mission Take full responsibility for the growth and profitability of Typhur's Amazon business in the US/EU (and JP if necessary), build the organization and mechanisms to achieve stable increases in GMV and gross margin, and controllable decreases in TACoS, creating a replicable global e-commerce engine. What You’ll Own • P&L Management: Develop and execute annual/quarterly targets for GMV, gross margin, TACoS, inventory health, OOS%, and other core metrics; conduct monthly/weekly business reviews (WBR). • 1P/3P Strategy: Define VC/SC mix and rhythm; negotiate VC terms (COOP, rebates, chargebacks), 3P pricing and profit models, MAP, and channel order. • Retail x Advertising: Lead Retail Readiness (content/reviews/search/A+) and integrated governance of SP/SB/SD/DSP campaigns, establishing TACoS/category-level ROAS management frameworks. • Supply Chain Execution: Manage S&OP, forecast replenishment, improve FBA IPI and in-stock levels, and prepare for Prime Day/Peak season stock and Deals rhythm. • Compliance and Brand Protection: Ensure account health, category access/compliance, and manage public opinion and gray market challenges (negative reviews, hijacking, intellectual property). • Organization and Collaboration: Recruit and lead a cross-regional team (8–15+ members); collaborate closely with R&D, quality, factories, finance, and legal; manage external agents/AVS/SAS as needed. • Data and Systems: Build operational dashboards and metric systems (ASIN-level GM, CVR, BSR, LTV/CAC, etc.), driving data-driven decision-making and automation. Who You Are • Former Amazon Experience (Required): Previously held an L7/L8+ position in Amazon Retail/Marketplace/Ads (e.g., Sr. Vendor/Category/Instock/Marketplace/Ads) with a track record of rapid promotions. • Proven Track Record: Independently managed an Amazon business with a revenue of 8–9 figures in the past 3–5 years; able to present improvement data and methodologies for GMV, gross margin, TACoS, and inventory health. • Bilingual and Cross-Border: Fluent in both Chinese and English; familiar with cross-border collaboration and compliance between China and the US/Europe. • Builder Mentality: Capable of building teams and mechanisms from 0→1→N, able to strategize while also diving into metrics, modifying lists, and monitoring inventory. • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in kitchen appliances/consumer electronics; background as Head of Amazon at an aggregator/agency (e.g., Pattern/Tinuiti/Flywheel) or brand. Success Metrics (Expected within 12 Months) • GMV: Core categories year-on-year growth of ≥ +30–50% (based on actual baseline); • TACoS: Decrease of 2–5pp while maintaining growth; • Inventory Health: Improvement in IPI, reduction in out-of-stock rates, and optimization of turnover; • Content and Search: Significant increase in top keyword coverage and conversion rates; • Organizational Development: Completion of recruitment for core positions (Ads/Operations/Content/Data) and implementation of performance mechanisms. 30/60/90 Day Milestones (Examples) • 30 Days: Conduct business diagnosis & risk assessment; determine 1P/3P structure and QBR rhythm; initiate WBR reporting. • 60 Days: Identify 3–5 high-contribution ASINs for integrated transformation of TACoS/inventory/content; finalize strategy for Prime Day/Q4; onboard first batch of key positions. • 90 Days: Submit and execute H2 P&L plan; achieve noticeable decrease in TACoS and improvement in in-stock levels; complete governance loop for gray market and account health.
