Why this is your dream job: As the Head of Business Intelligence, you'll be the strategic brain who transforms AppSumo's data into breakthrough insights that power our mission to help entrepreneurs succeed - you'll uncover the hidden opportunities and drive the decisions that fuel our next phase of growth. • Own the complete BI function, driving data strategy and analytical insights across all business units • Build BI roadmaps that directly fuel our mission of making entrepreneurship accessible to everyone • Partner directly with executive leadership to identify key business questions and translate them into actionable data strategies • Design and oversee scalable data architecture and pipelines, while rolling up your sleeves to build as needed • Establish data governance standards and ensure data quality across all systems and reporting • Develop data-driven recommendations that directly influence major business decisions and strategic direction • Create executive-level reporting and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights to leadership • Support scenario planning and strategic planning processes • Serve as the primary BI strategist and advisor to all departments, translating business challenges into analytical solutions • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and priorities • Drive adoption of data-driven decision making across the organization • Guide implementation of BI tools and platforms, ensuring they meet both technical and business requirements • Represent the voice of data and analytics in company-wide strategic initiatives and planning sessions Past experience: • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics, with significant experience in strategic roles • Proven track record of building and scaling BI functions independently • Strong background in marketplace, SaaS, or ecommerce analytics with demonstrated ability to drive business impact through data • Expert-level proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and database optimization • Advanced experience with BI visualization tools (Tableau strongly preferred) • Ability to work across multiple data sources and systems to create unified analytical views • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations and strategic insights • Strong business acumen with experience partnering with C-level executives • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence decision-making at all organizational levels • Experience in owning the data pipeline and management process end to end, ie: Fivetran, Snowflake, Tableau, etc. • Ability to deconstruct existing code and rebuild automations using Python and Docker The benefits: • Health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield, plus vision, dental, life insurance, and mental health services for you and your loved ones • 401(k) matching • 100% remote work model • Open vacation (PTO) policy (plan to make your Slack status a "🌴" at least one week per quarter) Unique perks to take care of you: • Flexible hours that let you start late or take that midday power nap • Freedom to have a side hustle (we don't treat that word like it's Voldemort) • Free access to all the software and tools in the AppSumo marketplace • Free lunch once a week, all the gear you need and work that actually makes an impact Ready to join us?
