POSITION TITLE: Manager, Creative Design & Production LOCATION: Headquarters is in Downtown Los Angeles, CA ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking a detailed driven, hands-on creative professional to help drive the creative vision and lead the execution of packaging and production artwork, promotional assets, and visual content for our haircare and accessories brands. This role is ideal for a strong designer with leadership experience and enjoys balancing technical execution with creative problem-solving in a fast-paced CPG environment. As part of the team, you will be expected to manage multiple projects efficiently and contribute directly to design work while overseeing and contributing to production processes. This role requires someone who is a self-starter that is looking to grow and expand their skill set and take ownership of projects from concept to completion. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES β€’ Graphic design and execution responsibilities include developing packaging, promotional materials, brand assets, and style guides while maintaining brand consistency. You will also troubleshoot design challenges and ensure print-ready accuracy. β€’ Photo shoot management involves leading lifestyle and e-commerce shoots, overseeing production, and ensuring high-quality, on-brand imagery, including retailer-specific and standard photography assets. β€’ Project and timeline management includes keeping projects on track, identifying potential delays, and communicating impacts early to maintain efficiency. β€’ Team and freelancer oversight includes mentoring junior designers, managing freelance creatives, and ensuring deadlines and brand standards are met. You will also manage external vendors to ensure collaboration and quality output. β€’ Cross-functional collaboration requires working closely with marketing, sales, and product development teams to ensure creative alignment with business goals. β€’ Occasional calls with global counterparts outside of standard office hours may be required. KEY CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS β€’ A self-starter and adaptable thinker who can take initiative, work independently, and pivot quickly in a dynamic environment. β€’ Leadership and team management experience, including mentoring junior designers, managing freelancers, and overseeing external creative partners. β€’ Project oversight and efficiency with exceptional organizational skills to manage timelines, workflows, and meet deadlines. β€’ Industry knowledge with experience in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle branding within a CPG environment preferred, and the ability to stay current on design trends and developments. β€’ Creative execution and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality artwork, troubleshoot design issues, and ensure accuracy in print-ready files. β€’ Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring alignment with business objectives. QUALIFICATIONS β€’ Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field preferred. β€’ 5+ years of experience in creative production, design, or brand marketing. β€’ 2+ years of experience managing designers, freelancers, or cross-functional creative teams. β€’ Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) with a strong grasp of typography, color, composition, and art direction. β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Etc.), digital asset management programs, Photo editing, and digital content. β€’ Hands-on expertise in graphic design, packaging, and promotional creative execution. β€’ Experience in print production & prepress including the understanding of print processes, die-line, and color management. β€’ Proven ability to balance leadership with execution, working within a fast-paced beauty CPG environment. β€’ All applicants must submit a relevant portfolio showcasing their design work. β€’ A design task will be required as part of the interview process.
