About The Role We’re looking for a Marketing Manager who’s both a strategic leader and a roll-up-your-sleeves operator. Someone who’s energized by owning the full marketing function—from brand storytelling and community building to performance, digital, retail, and everything in between. You’ll lead a lean internal team, work closely with contractors and agency partners, and collaborate across departments to ensure marketing is fueling every part of the business—from DTC to Amazon to retail. This role sits on our leadership team and reports directly to our CEO. Requirements What You'll DoStrategy & Brand • Own and execute Slate’s full-funnel marketing strategy—from awareness to conversion to retention • Define clear, focused brand positioning that resonates with real people and drives commercial results • Analyze performance metrics (CAC, ROAS, LTV, promotional lift) across DTC, Amazon, and retail—and turn them into action • Partner with Finance and the CEO on marketing budgeting and forecasting • Bring the Slate voice to life across packaging, digital, retail, and campaigns Digital & Direct-to-Consumer • Lead digital performance strategy across Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms • Own Slate’s Shopify website—ensure it's conversion-optimized, campaign-aligned, and on-brand • Manage lifecycle marketing (email/SMS via Attentive), always improving retention and repeat rate • Oversee growth and performance on Amazon with brand integrity and consistency Retail & Shopper Marketing • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to support growth in key accounts like Target • Lead omnichannel launch campaigns to drive trial and shelf velocity • Manage shopper marketing strategies with Roundel (more when they come) • Use tools and retailer data to guide media spend and connect performance to strategy Community, PR & Partnerships • Manage agency relationships for PR, influencer, and affiliate marketing • Build high-value partnerships that bring Slate into cultural conversation and new communities • Lead activations and consumer-facing moments that deepen connection and trust Leadership • Serve as a key member of Slate’s leadership team • Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing, high-integrity marketing team • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Ops, Finance, and Creative to align on goals and execution • Present strategic plans and performance insights to the CEO and board Who You Are • A marketing leader with 5+ years of experience in DTC, wellness, CPG, or personal care • A smart strategist who knows how to build and scale brands people genuinely care about • Deeply curious about consumers and obsessed with messaging that resonates and converts • Experienced in paid media, retention marketing, eCommerce growth, and creative storytelling • Not afraid of performance data—comfortable building and managing a budget, analyzing KPIs, and adjusting in real time • A builder, not just a manager—you know when to delegate and when to dive in • Skilled in tools like Google Analytics, Attentive, Shopify, Meta Ads • A natural collaborator and communicator, able to lead teams and align stakeholders • Passionate about prevention, oral health, and building something that truly matters Benefits Monthly healthcare stipend to help cover your medical insurance Hybrid PTO policy—we offer flexible time off and recommend taking around 15 days per year (+/-).
