Overview
As a Performance Planning Manager, you will be responsible for leading annual performance media budget planning and driving results across cross-channel activations for P&G’s EU Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) shops. This role requires a strong grasp of the paid media ecosystem within an e-commerce environment (biddable media experience preferred), paired with excellent client service skills, analytical expertise, and a passion for performance marketing.
You will create multi-channel annual performance media plans based on a bottom-up approach, continuously optimising plans in response to live performance data. You will collaborate closely with activation experts across Paid Search, Paid Shopping, Affiliates, and SEO to guide decisions and ensure campaigns deliver maximum impact. You will have the opportunity to own Paid Social activation (Meta & TikTok) on one account.
The role sits within the European Performance Team (15+ members, London based) and will focus primarily on Oral-B DTC accounts across five European markets - DE, AT, NL, FR, ES. Reporting into the Performance Planning Director, you’ll act as the primary client contact for DTC performance media, ensuring budgets are optimised to deliver against KPIs (ROAS & Revenue) while contributing to the evolution of P&G’s performance marketing strategy.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with channel specialists to design holistic annual performance media plans aligned to DTC performance KPIs (Revenue & ROAS).
• Oversee campaign activations and hold accountability for KPI delivery and performance optimisation.
• Stay informed of account activity (trading strategy, promotion calendars & briefs, website developments, new initiatives) and adjust paid media strategies accordingly.
• Proactively identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and flag to clients or leadership team where needed.
• Manage ongoing projects and provide best-in-class client servicing, delivering accurate, timely responses to queries.
• Analyse and interpret performance data, adapting media plans and offering actionable, strategic recommendations.
• Support leadership team on strategic workstreams (e.g., QBRs, Test & Learn initiatives).
• Drive innovation across accounts by trailing new strategies or processes.
• Ensure adherence to P&G operational and financial processes, with meticulous management of budgets and booking systems.
• Build strong working relationships with P&G clients and internal teams, acting as the trusted advisor on all matters related to DTC performance media.
Qualifications
• Experience in performance media planning or activation (with biddable experience preferred).
• Prior knowledge of performance marketing within an e-commerce / DTC context is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage 7 figure budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Experience in project management, coordinating complex activations across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insights from data and turn them into actionable strategies.
• Strong client management experience with a record of building trusted relationships.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate data into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences. Highly literate with a good understanding of how language is used to communicate to different audiences.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Diligence and attention to detail in optimisation and reporting
• A collaborative team player with the ability to influence internal & external stakeholders and drive alignment.
