Summary: The Senior Sales Director directs all sales functions at Summit Brands, including direct P/L responsibility for sales and customer profit goals. This role requires a dynamic, growth-focused, CPG leader to manage a high-performing sales team and drive Walmart and Omnichannel growth. This role develops and implements sales objectives, plans, and best-in-class processes to enhance efficiency and profitability. Effective Rep/Broker management, exceptional analytical skills, and strategic thinking are essential. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
β’ Implement strategies and plans to achieve double-digit annual sales growth.
β’ Manage Sales Department operations, including developing and administering budgets, annual/monthly sales plans, and performance standards aligned with the companyβs business goals.
β’ Develop and maintain a high-performance culture to continually meet functional KPIs and sales targets.
β’ Collaborate with marketing to develop strategies, create content, analyze data, and utilize web technologies to ensure e-commerce and Omnichannel growth.
β’ Identify, nurture, and manage key talent within the sales team to ensure individual success and the achievement of department goals and objectives.
β’ Plan, execute, analyze, and adjust strategies to increase customer retention and revenue.
β’ Spend time in the field to service sales channels and mentor sales team.
β’ Monitor changes in the sales landscape and adjust strategies as needed to meet the companyβs business goals.
β’ Assess the effectiveness of sales methods, costs, and outcomes, and optimize sales methods based on insights.
β’ Research and develop strategies to enter new markets and seize sales opportunities.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE And ADDITIONAL SKILLS
β’ B.A. or B.S. Degree required, MBA a plus.
β’ 5+ years of successful managerial experience in the CPG/Cleaning Products industry.
β’ 10+ years experience working with National Reps/Brokers, showcasing strong expertise in relationship building and channel management.
β’ Extensive experience in Mass, Grocery, Hardware, Big Box Retailers, Home Center & Specialty channels is highly desired.
β’ Proven ability to lead, inspire, and direct teams, fostering a collaborative results-driven culture.
β’ Strategic change agent with a strong focus on developing teams, brands, and achieving growth objectives.
β’ Demonstrated success in Omni Channel strategies within the CPG industry, including Amazon and e-commerce platforms, is a must.
β’ Operates with an entrepreneurial mindset, acting as a hands-on player-coach to ensure the seamless execution of organizational goals and initiatives.
