We’re looking for a UI Designer (12-month FTC) to join our Design System team. You’ll help shape and evolve Depop’s design language across platforms, creating high-quality, scalable UI components that empower product teams to deliver consistent, intuitive, and impactful experiences.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on detail, loves crafting systems, and can balance consistency with creativity.
Responsibilities
• Contribute to Depop’s Design System: Create and maintain UI components, patterns, and documentation that support product teams across web and iOS and Android.
• Craft high-quality UI: Deliver pixel-perfect visuals that balance usability, accessibility, and brand expression.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with product designers, engineers, and product managers to ensure components are consistent, functional, and easy to implement.
• Support scalability: Identify opportunities to streamline and standardise UI, ensuring our design system supports future growth.
• Champion consistency: Advocate for cohesive, system-led design across Depop’s surfaces.
• Craft high-quality UI elements, animations, transitions, and microinteractions to enhance user engagement and delight.
• Create designs that are optimised for different platforms, including iOS, Android, and responsive web, ensuring consistency across all touch points.
• Comfortable presenting to larger audiences and senior stakeholders.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a UI Designer, Visual Designer, or similar role working with digital products.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UI craft, attention to detail, and system-thinking.
• Experience working with or contributing to a design system.
• Proficiency in Figma (variants, components, libraries).
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product designers and engineers.
Nice to have (but not essential)
• Familiarity with tokens and design-to-code workflows.
• Previous marketplace or e-commerce/fashion product experience.
• Good understanding of motion principles.
