Role description
The Technical Product Manager for Mobile Platform partners with engineering leaders to provide foundational technology and governance for consumer mobile apps. The platforms enable teams to efficiently create and operate features with consistent design and performance, combining into high-quality overall experiences. The Technical Product Manager leads defining outcomes, initiatives, and processes that support the internal developer community, end user experience, and business priorities. They champion adoption of platform capabilities. They seek alignment and synergy between platforms. They must have sufficient knowledge of relevant technologies to define meaningful acceptance criteria and to understand how technical decisions affect experience outcomes.

Responsibilities
• Understand platform users’ and stakeholders’ needs. Determine how to assess platforms’ ability to meet those needs and establish an ongoing assessment. Represent those needs in product planning and governance processes.
• In partnership with platform engineering leaders, lead in defining desired outcomes and strategy, then initiatives and processes to achieve those outcomes.
• In partnership with platform engineering leaders, create and maintain platform team roadmaps. Evaluate the potential work’s value and priority. Report progress and status to stakeholders. Show how the teams’ work connects to desired outcomes.
• Define user stories and acceptance criteria that are specific about outcomes without defining the engineering solution.
• In partnership with platform engineering leaders, create and lead governance processes that help feature teams uphold platform quality and requirements. Help feature teams understand the benefits of platform enhancements and push for adoption.
Required
• Significant knowledge of current technologies and practices for the creation, deployment, and operation of mobile apps
• Experience with common product management practices
• Experience working within agile product teams to build customer-facing software
• Proven success in translating software user and stakeholder needs into relevant outcomes and development scope
• Proven success in achieving outcomes through indirect influence and building consensus
Preferred
• Experience with e-commerce mobile apps
• Experience with major public cloud providers
• Experience with content delivery networks
• Experience with web and app analytics tools
• Experience with mobile app engineering teams and mobile delivery platforms/tooling (Apple and Google app stores)
• Experience with authentication and identity management systems and practices, such as Okta, Cognito
• Experience in the hospitality or travel industries
