Role description
Are you a creative, fan-centric, data driven marketing professional who has a demonstrated track record of building fan love and developing elite talent? If so, you may be the perfect candidate to lead our marketing team as we look to build our brand and fanbase both locally and globally. Our Marketing team is looking for a Vice President of Marketing to join the team at the LA Clippers and Intuit Dome. As VP of Marketing, you will take the lead on the creation and implementation of strategic and tactical plans for all marketing activities; including but not limited to: marketing strategy, digital engagement, growth marketing, advertising, demand and lead generation, and project management. You should be a people first leader who is a big thinker, passionate about continually elevating the brand, delivering consistent story telling, and most importantly making a lasting impact across our market. To be considered, you should exhibit a successful history of directing brand strategy and execution, digital marketing proficiency, using data to inform and support your decisions, and a willingness to be hands-on with execution. You should also love working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving, positive and collaborative team environment. The scope of this position encompasses a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation with the transition of numerous daily events. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile NBA games. What You Will Do β€’ Own and evolve the Clippers brand narrative, ensuring clear articulation of our purpose, voice and positioning across all touchpoints – from marquee campaigns to game-day experiences β€’ Develop new strategies and opportunities for our brand that will enable us to grow our brand, fandom & engagement. β€’ Develop and execute annual marketing plans designed to grow our brand, fan base & revenue (including: ticketing initiatives – schedule release, season membership, single-game tickets, The Wall, jersey launches, merchandise, multicultural & youth marketing programming, etc) β€’ Lead the growth strategy across our channels including, but not limited to Paid/Performance Marketing, Email Marketing, Web and App ecosystem with a framework encompassing lead generation, nurturing, conversion and retention. β€’ Collaborate with Business Insights & Analytics team to optimize fan communication through journey optimizer to streamline Ticketing Revenue opportunities and fan entrance readiness. β€’ Lead the strategy and development around the Clippers Loyalty Program that will change fan behavior around Home Court Advantage while deepening their fandom. Continual refinement on the program based on data and fan engagement. β€’ Partner with PR and Communications team to shape the narrative of the Clippers brand across earned media, press events and storytelling moments. β€’ Continually effectively wire & collaborate across the organization to develop revenue opportunities supporting ticket sales, partnership marketing, and retention programs. β€’ Review and optimize performance of all marketing activities to maximize conversions, revenue and return on investment; and to assess against goals and benchmarks. β€’ Lead, empower, mentor and develop the Marketing team and foster a culture of innovation and continuous testing across creative, digital and fan experiences to ensure we remain a first-mover in the sports & entertainment space. β€’ Proactively monitor performance to proactively identify course corrections and/or new opportunities. β€’ Establish project management process to better collaborate between departments. β€’ Effectively manage Marketing budget. β€’ Play an active role as part of our Marketing Leadership Team. Your Background, Skills And Qualifications β€’ Undergraduate/graduate business or marketing degree β€’ 10+ years Marketing experience (previous sports marketing experience preferred) β€’ Demonstrated ability to win through superior consumer marketing β€’ Significant advertising development experience required β€’ Experience with executing digital & social media campaigns from upper funnel awareness campaigns to performance marketing campaigns focused on conversion β€’ 5+ yrs of demonstrated people leadership and proven track record of coaching & developing world class talent β€’ Track record of delivering results & ability to make strategic choices to maximize impact β€’ Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at different stages of development β€’ Self-starter with ability to work independently – high sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit β€’ Exceptional communication, prioritization & time management skills β€’ Breakthrough thinker with a strong pulse on culture and emerging trends β€’ Strong execution, communication & strategic thinking skills, business savvy and an opportunity seeker β€’ Proven ability to lead agency relationships to achieve gold standard results β€’ Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key partners and influence at all levels β€’ Ability to anticipate issues and resolve them based on sound business judgement β€’ Bilingual in English and Spanish an asset About Intuit Dome: Opened in August 2024, Intuit Dome is the new home of the LA Clippers and will host hundreds of sporting events and concerts each year. Located in Inglewood, Calif., Intuit Dome is built different -- it will redefine fans’ expectations for live experiences and change the music landscape in Los Angeles. Set to host the 2026 NBA All-Star game, Intuit Dome is over 1 million square feet and features our team training center, business operations offices, five full-sized basketball courts, an 80,000 square foot outdoor plaza and a double-sided Halo Board composed of more than an acre of LED. Compensation β€’ The range for this position is $240,000- $260,000 annual compensation. Compensation package offered will be based on multiple individualized factors, including a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. β€’ The role is classified as exempt.
